“Fairy tale therapy in counselling”
Fairy tale therapy allows to take a look inside of you, as well as look at yourself from the side. It’s done using metaphor. Understanding the structure of fairy tale and the significance of it, in a fairy tale everyone comes into contact with their subconsciousness and learn for to translate it. This seminar is very practical and dynamic. The roles of counsellor and client are getting switched, that way everyone has a chance to play many roles through, as well as use their director talent for their own fairy tale.
Annotation of the counselling program: The main tool to activate client’s inner resources in using metaphors. There resources help client to see what other people have inside them, and what they couldn’t see before for some reason, or they were simply forgotten. This is one of the main goal in fairy tale therapy.
Main objective of the counselling program: Improve participant’s understanding about fairy tale therapy, its effect, importance, and the way the therapy works as a tool in different cases. Individual work with own fairy tale.
Contents of the counselling program:
Introductions and adaptation.
Defining goals.
Structure of therapy and its main elements.
Working in small groups.
Values and importance in fairy tales. Loss and longing. Taboos in concrete examples.
Work in pairs. Role of antagonist, giver, helper. What are relationships with those figures.
Questions to group: how to write a fairy tale?, unfinished fairy tales, miraculous fairy tales – essence and importance of them.
Using fairy tale therapy with children.
Using miracle cures.
Use of opportunity to transform.
Effect of miracle mirror technique.
Questions. Summing up the program.
Work methods used within this counselling program: theoretical material, role playing, business-like games, discussions, reflection, corporeal exercises, visualization, work in a circle, working in pairs and small groups.
Length of the counselling program: main program – 32 academic hours (4 days/8 h)
Where? When? How Much?
Lessons take place in Riga, Kalnciema Street 29a-6.Enrolment and a tour with closer look happens once a year, in October, on the open door day of school.Studies start annually in November. Lectures are divided into seminaries; all together they are held for two years. Each seminary lasts two days (16 academic hours). Studies take place on Saturdays and Sundays once or twice a month from 10:00 to 18:00. Payment for one seminary (2 days) – 147 EUR.
